Hammered copper ring

I found this blog today, by musician Glenn Morrissette, ex of LA, and his life in an RV travelling the US. All pursuant to my dreams of sooner rather than later frapping la rue.

I've lost my picture gallery on the WWJ site. No record of it anywhere to be found. Sigh... I was going to post the pictures of my first hammered copper ring. Shit, these are tough to do!

No idea what that goobery shite is speckling the ring. Ewww...

Memo to self: start hammering on the mandrel two sizes smaller than the desired finished size.
This is ostensibly an adjustable ring, but because I locked the twirls inside the bend, it can only be made smaller. I'm trying to come up with a way to make the twirls sit horizontally, rather than vertically. Variations on a theme.

Been wasting time online since 5:30 this morning. Went out to admire the wood pile which arrived last night at 7:30, Chris made my deadline with 4.5 hours to spare...

Doesn't look like much, does it? Welcome to southern Ontario: face cord for $80, one more to come supposedly tonight.

This is where the shed being borrowed from a friend of the landlord's will be going... one of these days. I still haven't paid for the wood yet (only paid September's rent last night in order to compel him to do at least one thing that he's promised, unlike last year when I paid for the wood in August, he agreed to get five cords in in total by the end of September, and three days before Christmas I was screaming at him to get me that first cord of wood because I was literally down to the last armload of the scrap 3x3s that had been donated by friends who felt sorry for me), so that might light a figurative fire under Chris to do what he promises. Yes, the door where Max is standing IS wonky. It was ripped out with a chainsaw.

...and check the mail but it hasn't arrived yet. Usually it's here by 10:30-10:45, but today it's late or not coming at all. Bitter wind from the north, even though the sun is quite warm, and so far it's still warm inside here from yesterday's heat and humidity but I notice it's cooling down fast. I also got an email that there's a cheque waiting for me at the store downtown. Yippeeee... hope it's substantial... because my truck is once again, as I write this, up on the hoist, this time getting a new fuel pump installed. What will I be up to by the end of the day, you ask? Something like three grand in truck repairs this spring and summer!?!?!?!

No wonder I'm forever broke. My horrorscope this morning said I should get any projects (I'm thinking it's gotta mean Rene's wrap bracelet and the black and white cake decorations plus dangles) done TODAY... just maybe that means I'll get a huge typing project in tomorrow, d'ya think?!?!?! hahaha. Sometimes horrorscopes can be so right and sometimes so off the wall wrongo-bongo. I usually compare them and pay attention if I can interpret them to say more or less the same thing or if there's a common theme... or in my case undercurrent . Funny how every Pisces for the past umpteen years has been in financial difficulties every frickin' day, innit? They've consistently got that right. Explain that, all you doubters!

Well, time for lunch. I'll spare you photos of that.

Black & white feather earrings with heliotrope swarovski dangles

I love heliotrope. I wish they had more selection of sizes and shapes. All sterling findings on these earrings. I need to get some of those long skinny feathers to break up the "chunkiness" of these.

These are the first of my examples for the Alternative Bridal Show that Rene (Let's Eat Cake) and I are putting on in Woodstock on the 2nd of October. Not particularly original, I know, but I'm having fun putting them together. Everything is made to be easily taken apart and remade into something else.

This silver towel rack is one of my new table display pieces. Raw turquoise peeking out from underneath the background... gotta get that sorted, priced and do something with it, too -- soon! Yummers... so many new toys, so little time. Long weekend is here and off to Toronto on Tuesday or Wednesday.

read this second, or go back to April 2011 and read it then...

I thought I had published this months ago... back in April, in fact. But... now that I've found it, and reread it, it's still so frickin apropos... given that I'm spending six or more hours from the time I get up before I can pry my bloodied and battered down to at least the first knuckle fingers off the keyboard and go do something productive... like make silly earrings.

I have to (re)post this:

AGNES By Tony Cochran

And I hope I don't get sued for posting this cartoon. I love Agnes more than anything. I too have had problems how to grasp the concept of the Internet. How it didn't exist, and then it did. It's the black hole of forever lost time, that's for sure. Turn my computer OFF and lookit all the things I accomplish. It's amazing. I used to think that two hours spent reading a big city newspaper from front to back was a time-sucker. Hah. Eight or ten hours can go by on here and what have I actually accomplished?

I solved the TV time-sucking problem by not having one. Or, well, I have one, but it's only for watching DVDs and that has slowed down to a crawl in the past few years that I've been living out in the country. Added to the lost hours watching increasingly dubious content (or hit eject after two minutes of brain-rotting crap and lose the rental/gas money), I have to add the cost of gas, rental and time spent driving to and from the video store or library twice. I don't have cable. More brain rotting crap. I certainly don't have a cellphone/BlackBerry or suchlike to text/tweet/twit my friends and myself to death.

It's this damned Internet that is sucking my time on earth. I have to go make jewellery, clean up, start spring-trimming my poor unsuspecting dog... good time to do it: he's sound asleep on the couch. It just occurred to me that I should start spelling jewellery as "jewelry" since that's what is in most search engines.

READ ME FIRST TODAY, 01 SEPT: This fried & it's only Thursday? I think I'm in big trouble...

After a good start to the summer, we begin the fall officially today with zero transcription. In fact, August really sucked for typing, meaning I'm in deep caca by October. I've been spending upwards of six hours a day meandering through the Internet reading crap and looking at what other people can do with wire. In the meantime, after a lot of thought, this is all I manage to come up with...

Good grief, I need a life so bad...

Tag! You're it! Hahahahah

I think she's really losing it this time Bwahahahahaha
